Hey Pit. So I am going to the Bahamas next year for a wedding, so I am going to need to get a passport. I am still 15 though right now, and will be turning 16 this december. So when I go to the wedding I will be 16. However, if I apply for my passport now I won't need to get a picture taken. But I want to know if I get my passport now (before I am 16), will I have to go back when I turn 16 to get it renewed? Also I live in Canada, I don't know if that changes anything or not.

You won't need a picture taken?

Why's that?

If you're 15 you still need to get your photo taken. I'm a Canadian citizen (born in Alberta) and I needed to get my photo taken for my passport both when I was 8, and when I renewed it when I was 15.

I think you need a photo on your passeport unless you share one with your parent, but it only applies to young children.

At least in the UK, a child passport is 5 years, while adult is 10. Being under the Crown, It's probably similar in Canada. It'll expire at 20 for you, no biggie.

I think you misunderstood, an adult passport in the UK expires after 10 years.
