Hey all,

I'm wondering if any one knows what amps, pedals & EQ settings As I Lay Dying uses? I'm referring specifically to the their tone on the "Shadows are security" album, more specifically in the intro and outro to "Meaning in Tragedy".

From what I've gathered so far, Nick uses Peavey 6505+, Randall & Krank heads, Maxon OD808 & AD909 (delay pedal)..

Any one know the EQ settings? or what effects and amps were used during the recording of Meaning in Tragedy?

Thanks!

I left the other open, since this question pertains more to this forum. Please limit yourself to one thread per topic.
Feel free to call me Kyle.

Just understand there's no way you'll be able to get As I lay Dying's tone right down to every freq. Their tone probably costs 1000s of dollars, which I'm guessing you don't have.

Certainly passed away at too young an age. I can only imagine how much he could have done for music had he lived.

Although the TS needed to stick to that one thread seeing as this is the same topic...that answer blows. As I Lay Dying still sounds like they're running Krank on the new album...the tone is still the same. He said himself, that they tracked a 6505 for the rhythms and an SLO-100 for the leads, but it still sounds the same!!!!

Oh yeah, I second the comments on you not being able to replicate the eq to the exact freq. Just play around with it.

Krank rev+, a V30 cab, and a good ear will get you VERY close to their tone.

Would adding a EQ pedal help dial in that specific tone?

yes, and it's also the best investment I've ever made into a guitar pedal.

I see you're rocking the MXR 10 band...that is the pedal i was looking into.

What are your thoughts on it?
