Is it the tremolo or the non-tremolo version? If it's the latter, are you sure the nut is correctly cut?

might be somthing sharp on the nut. or like the guy before me said, the nut might not be cut correctly, causing a sharp edge or somethin

Either the nut is not right, like they said, or some frets might need to be filed smooth

If it were me id take a very fine file and just give the nut slot a bit of a smooth over just to ensure there aren't any sharp edges on the nut slot. as with all these things take your time and check your work constantly and you will be fine.
