Get rid of R.E.M. and replace it with Echo and the Bunnymen's Porcupine, and our lists would be extremely similar.

EDIT: And I'd replace The Replacements (lol), with Descendents' Milo Goes to College.

80's were a completely meh decade. I honestly can't think of any notable "amazing" albums.

Heh, I thought Marshall Law was doom metal from looking at the album cover. I'm sure you can imagine my disappointment when I looked it up on youtube.

Anyway, I haven't heard of any of those albums aside from The Real Thing, so I won't comment any further, except that they seem to fall under the "typical" 80's metal genre.

I love maiden, but I don't think piece of mind was that great :/

On a side note, those other ones rock

lol. Definitely not doom metal. I thought it was doom metal as well though.

Isn't that the joy of it though?

Retaliation aren't exactly that "typical" 80's metal, with the ballads and the what not, more like the yelling and the shouting and the destructive guitar riffs and all that jazz. Not literally of course.

But still, no Candlemass? Trouble? Pentagram? Satan? Saint Vitus? Cathedral?

Although, Satan aren't doom. But still, Court in the Act!? Some sexy stuff there my friend, sexy..sexy stuff.

But I won't bug you any further. Let your eyes rest.

Not saying that the 80's were completely devoid of good music, just that I haven't come across anything that strikes me as an amazing, landmark album.

But I guess it's all subjective anyway.

1. Duran Duran - Rio

...wait, I'm not doing this wrong, am I?

I could think of an actual list for you, but be warned - Rio has to be in it.
The post above was created by a computer.
But WormGod helped make it a bit.
Blame any typos on said computer.

I actually consider the 80's to be my personal favorite decade, whether it's the heavy metal albums, the hardcore punk albums or the thrash metal albums.

I'm suprised you didn't say Surfer Rosa- The Pixies.

I would add Freakly Styley- Red Hot Chili Peppers but some people would disagree

I never really got into The Pixies, pretty much just because they were an ex's favorite band.
I'm an asshole.
