So... In my boredom of my so called tour of "GTMO" Cuba. I have found myself watching a marathon of James bond films. Starting with Sean Connery and currently working towards the Roger Moore Era. So... I've found that, like most people, Sean Connery by far is the best James Bond. And I base it off of the 1960's ideal of a "man's man" and the blatant sexism, where women are perceived as objects. Now I'm not condoning or implying that women are inferior by any means, but I am admitting to finding it quite humorous. Take as an example: In Thunderball, James Bond black mails a woman in to having sexual relations with him (see spa scene). Or in Goldfinger, He is talking to a companion, in which is lady friend interupts and he responds by telling her he's having "man talk" followed by a slap of the ass. Though this sort of script writing is toned down VERY much so in recent years, but one must admit..... James bond surely must have a wide variety of sexually transmitted diseases.

So in conclusion am I alone in admiring James Bond for being the Fictional "Man's Man" that no one will (aside from myself) will ever be?

Your thoughts?

My personality is sometimes like a mixture of Connery's Bond and Frank Sinatra. Gets me in trouble.

Sean Connery was the best bond but Daniel Craig has made the series good again after Peirce Brosman. He wasn't bad but His films let down the series. Its like the fourth indiana jones film, its okay but nothing compared to the earlier ones.

I agree, Brosnan was a good Bond.

I've never liked Moore, though. Mainly because bar 'Man with a Golden Gun', his films were all a bit... silly.

And I'd love for Craig to get another shot at the character. QoS would be a terrible way to end his short tenure as Bond.

I loved Pierce Brosnan just because he's the Bond that was always in the movies that my dad watched and in my video games. I do enjoy the Connery ones a lot. The Moore ones are very fun. I've never seen a Timothy Dalton Bond. And Daniel Craig made the series into something a bit more believable and awesome. And OHMSS was good too, but the dude's chin was just too distracting.

Brosnan was a good Bond, but all the Brosnan films save Goldeneye were ****ing horrible.

Timothy Dalton was a good Bond. Brosnan was good too.

Roger Moore was bad though.

That was my reaction when I found out Gerrard Butler had a Scottish accent. I thought that was fake.

Pierce Brosnan was an awsome Bond, but the scriptwriters of the last two movies of his era sucked.
I hated Roger Moore as Bond. IMO you could switch him with annoying clown and it would be exactly the same.
Also, I quite liked Daniel Craig as a bond. I enjoyed how he played Bond as a rough macho-man It was quite fitting, considering that his movies demonstrate the Bond's earlier "rookie" years.
I don't really remember much from Connery era except for that spider scene

I hate James Bond. Crappy acting, rubbish character, generally poor film plots and the books are fairly meh too.

The Man With The Golden Gun.

I'll admit that I'm a total Bond nerd. I've seen every entry in the series at least twice.

The List:

1) Connery: The first four Bond movies are classic. You Live Only Twice is magic. Diamonds Are Forever shitty, save for Mr. Wint and Mr. Kidd, if only for the creepy homosexual overtones.

2) Dalton: Everybody seems to overlook Timothy Dalton's Bond. Sure, he sucked at one liners, but he did the badass, kill everything thing twenty years before Daniel Craig did.

3) Craig: He got the short end of the stick as far as script writing goes. Casino Royale was the best Bond flick since Goldeneye, but QoS was disappointing. I was excited for another Craig movie, as I really enjoy the direction his movies took Bond, but that's not going to happen.

4) Brosnan: Goldeneye was good, everything else was very "meh." I think Brosnan was mediocre at best.

5) Lazenby: OHMSS was actually the last really good Bond film made until The Man With The Golden Gun. Shame Lazenby thought that the 007 franchise was going to be shortlived.

6) Moore: Almost completely utter shit. I try to erase Moore's Bond from my memory.

As for a new Bond, I can only think of a few actors who could keep the series from getting stale:

1) Liam Neeson: Please, please, please! Get him before he's way too old for it.

2) Jason Statham: I know I'll get flamed, but he would fit into the harder action direction the series seems to be going in.

3) I wish that Clint Eastwood had taken the role after Connery permanently retired. We would have been spared Roger Moore. I don't care that he's not English, Eastwood is the f*cking man.
