Hi guys. I've been trying to work out a way to finger the C minor shaped barre chord, but I can't squeeze my middle finger up a fret. By C minor I don't mean the chord C minor, but the shape, just as you would play it in the open position only barred.

Does anyone have a technique for playing this chord shape?

are you asking about the c minor shape as in

x?
because if you are for the sake of playability i just play it like
x
x
0
1
3
x
its easier to play and the same thing

Right. I recon that's as close as I'm going to get it anyway. I've been looking for ways to play other minor barre chords outside of the the Em and Am shapes. Gm and Dm are doable, but i've pretty much got to fully extend every finger on my hand.

You only really, really need the E and A shaped barre chords. I've personally never used any other barre shapes.

Well, you can use as many different shapes as you want. I know I use other chord bases but I think this Cm shape is more trouble than it's worth.
