Hello there, I purchased my Blackstar series one 45 watt combo amp about 6 months ago, the tone is absolutely beautiful. However, I play rather heavy music and have found that the super crunch channel hasnt got enough gain for the kinda stuff i play. I was recently considering selling it to buy something which has a bit more of a kick to it. But a friend online told me instead of going through all of that i can merely buy a tubescreamer which will give it a bit more oomph to pplay more modern metal styles. Is this true? If so, can anyone reccomend a tubescreamer that would do the job?
thanks

I use a Maxon OD808 with my HT-5. It's great.

I use a Boss SD-1. You don't have to get a TS, anything associated with the word "boost" should do the job. I'm not sure how much the HT-5 differs from Series One though.
