Time for some serious guitar porn.

I'm still bathing in awe so you'll have to wait for the full story once i'm done stroking the guitar

The paint job is absolutely beatifull and the guitar has been well looked after. A sharp eye might notice that the thrusrod cover is missing. The owner took it off and it's in the case with the screws. The neck is an absolute dream to play. The primary reason why i went for the JPM is that it has a rounder neck that most RG guitars which i find more comfterble than a flatter neck.

Tomorrow i'll swap the strings oil the fretboard to give it some love. lets hope my GF doesn't mind sharing the attention tomorrow

Indeed, the pickups were wired by tony blair, the body is ancient chineese oak, the frets are made from a tree grown in JP's yard and i must say: Michelangelo is a pretty decent painter. I already killed 2 roommates when i accidently went into killzone mode

Cheers guys . I just gasped when the seller opened the guitar case, it's absoluutly stunning

Guitar will be brought to my local store as soon as i have time to have the intonation done(i hate doing the intonation on a fr guitar). Still deciding wether i want 09, 010 or hybrid strings on it(it has 010 atm). I'll try to make some family pictures tomorrow if i'm not still playing

I payed 800 euro's for it(don't know how much that is in dollars). Pretty good deal if you ask me since these guitars are getting harder and harder to find these days you end up paying for the collectors value. There is a JPM P1 currently for sale nearby for 1600 euro's.

The owner had a realy hard time letting go and i can understand why. I bought the guitar to be played and not to store away in a case. Though i will be a lot more carefull with it unlike my strat

That seems like a very good deal to me, used JPMs seem to go for twice as much on ebay

It's a bloody shame people ask such high prices for them these days. sooner or later only collectors will be buying these beauties. Ibanez should reissue(i know, lawsuit bla bla bla) them or atleast make a guitar with the exact neck profile and setup. The reason i went for the jpm is because of it's rounder neck(and i'm a bit of a petruccie fanboi ). Used to play an s2170 that had a flatter neck but it wasn't as comfterble playing chrods etc.

yeah the Viper (iirc) neck from Ibby is only on JPs models and is even nicer than the Super Wizard neck.

Thing is if they did reissue it, they would porbably charge well over 1.5-2k for it.

I definitely agree with you about the neck, they are a lot better than any RG neck I've ever played. And you got a great price too!

Tom 1.0, the Viper neck was on a few S models as well as the RT series.

Nope, discontinued in 1999.

Here's a family photo and an overview of the rigg i will be using live:

It's been a day since i got it and i'm still drooling over the finish. The fretboard has been well looked after and fast as hell. Rosewood tends to stick when i sweat a lot but not this one. The guitar has a beaty marks but that normal considdering that the guitar is 12 years old. The frets are still in good shape and all the hardware works as it should(though there is a slight crackle in the tone pot). The neck is like a slimmed down version of my strat's neck. The neck on my strat just feels bulky compared to the ibanez.

Well, ive got pretty much everything i need. I´ve got my strat for the all round and feel like playing hard and the JPM for when i want to play faster and more controlled wne when i need that humbucker in the neck for solo´s. Still need to put the trusrod cover on and i wish it stopped raining so i can take her to my local guitar shop to have it propperly set up.

Older SFs and SCs (both fixed bridges) Also 540S's an 540R's (what the JS is based on) could have had them, the ones with the Custom Made inlay, because they could be ordered with specific necks, although finding one with the Viper would be pretty hard I'd say.

800 Euros for a JP Ibanez? That is the deal of a lifetime, these will become collectors' guitars easily worth 10 times that amount.
Dear God, do you actually answer prayers?

Yes, but only in a way indistinguishable from random luck or the result of your own efforts.

Huh, are they still the same custom made strings designed to withstand temperatures of the sun?

I want that guitar...

The guitar is at a local guitar shop to have it propperly set up. I miss her already . Let's hope the value doesn't rise that much because it will make it harder and harder to take the guitar to band practice etc.
