Well then start playing Death and Necrophagist. They're not 80's metal bands but they have awesome rhythm riffs.

any meshuggah song will make you cry

This, if you really want to have good rhythm to handle your 80s metal and more try some Meshuggah. the polyrhythms will whip you into shape.
Even if you dont have a 7 string or an 8 just play regardless, its great excerise.
People in the pit take my post way too seriously.

If you have a question PM me and I will always get back to you.

yeah...death rules.....they were around in the 80s...werent they????

Actually they were, they released 2 albums in 87 and 88. But I wanted to say that they're not one of those 80's trash and heavy metal bands. Chuck founded it in 83

rok you like a hurricane

and one of my favorites - still of the night by whitesnake

if you like 80s hair metal that song rocks. Plus vivian campbell might be imo one of the greatest metal guitarsits ever. he played for dio aka holy diver, rainbow in the dark, and last in line

basically besides vocals/writing, vivan campbell was dio. dude could play. and those harmonics. ive never heard better harmonics and sqeals. dude has gifted fingers.

oh yeah, so play some dio too

As a worshipper of John Petrucci I'm going to say Under a Glass Moon by Dream Theater. Albeit being released in 1992, it still has a 80's feeling to it.
