Our english teacher gave us task on summer to choose a book, read it and talk about it. Summers almost over and I'm thinking of finding a book.

So.

I'm looking for a BOOK based on a movie, so I can watch a movie and don't read it.
or
A book on which a movie is based, PRESUMING it has very little plot differences. I thought about Lord of the rings, but I've read somewhere that the movie follows a slightly different storyline.

Harry potter. And the LOTR films aren't that different overall, they just miss out LOADS of detail and characters.

The Shining. Kickass movie, and kickass book. There are differences between both of them, but with Kubrick taking on the film and being a book by Stephen King, you just know that they're both gonna be damn good. And if you don't, take it from me: they are.

I'm not asking you to read the book for me or watch a movie for me, or make a report about it.

It follows a massivly different storyline, some of the main characters in the books arn't even included in the films.

Try One flew over the cookoos nest, thats badass

Do your own damn homework. There are no movies out there that are 100% like their book counterpart. I'd be hard pressed to find one that's even 90% there. The fact is that the way a book is written doesn't make a good movie and the way a movie is written doesn't make a good book. Just go read a damn book. I'd recommend one of the Hitchhikers guide to the galaxy series. Their short and there's a lot to talk about.

Most book to films alter from their source material, so do not rely on a film to tell you about a book. Just stop being lazy and read a book, it won't hurt you.

These are two short books which aren't too bad which come to mind. You could read those in a single sitting.

No. There are perhaps thousands of great books out there which can be read in a day or two. One I read quickly recently was One Day In The Life Of Ivan Denisovich by Alexander Solzhenitsyn, a brutal and touching account of life in a Stalinist labour camp.

If you just watch a film, your teacher will know, seriously.

You can read a book in a couple of days if you put your mind to it, just put some effort it and do it. I recommend 'The Road' by Cormac McCarthy.

The kiterunner is a nice book. Reads very quick I finished it in one and it is an intresting story too.
But be aware that the movie is a simplified version of the book.

Do Hitchiker's Guide to the Galaxy, I mean the movie is EXACTLY like the book. Your teacher will never know the difference.
