Another one of these guitar trade threads. I've been offered an epiphone explorer for my Fender MIM Stratocaster.

Is tis a good trade or not?

it seems fair at first. youd have to look at the guitar and make sure its nothing wrong with it. make sure nothing has been changed or replaced no very bad dings chips or scratches. if every thing checks out I say go for it.

Yeah he says the horns are chipped. Or something, but I was wondering about differences in feel between the Fender and the Epi?

Well the humbuckers are definetly a change. The epi will be uncomfortable to play at first. It will also be heavy compared to your strat. The neck is thicker than your strat, and it's definetly more of a rythm playing guitar than a lead guitar. Then again, tone is in the fingers

I'm a lead player... That's the thing, but is it good for tight riffing?

Check what explorer model it actually is, Epiphone have a range that vary in prices. Personally i would keep the strat and save for a new guitar, it is an excellent platform for upgrading if you choose to.
