I was planning on getting this sometime this soon - http://www.guitarcenter.com/Epiphone-Les-Paul-Custom-Electric-Guitar-100176337-i1149998.gc
I played it forever in the shop and loved everything about it.

On craigslist the other day I noticed this other guitar for about half the price - http://maine.craigslist.org/msg/1904383219.html
I've never seen one of these Epiphones, so I was just wondering if anyone recognizes this guitar, and could let me know what they think about it. Evidently, it's a custom shop guitar, but there's no custom logo on the headstock?

Ask him what year and for a serial number. I've never seen a epi LP custom without that thing on the headstock, and I know for a fact that you can buy the LP custom truss rod cover.

I'm saying it's either
1) Some special edition les paul custom
2) a LP standard with a LP custom truss rod cover
3) A complete fake

(in that order from most likely to least likely

Looks like an Elitist headstock and knobs. Might explain why he calls it a Custom Shop, even though there's no such thing - they have Custom models to emulate the Gibson ones, but AFAIK you can't get a made to order Epi.

Edit: Who the hell would fake an Epiphone? Fakes are generally Gibson Standards or better.
Everyone is entitled to an opinion.

Feel free to express yours so I can make an informed judgement about how stupid you are.
