when we leave the pub together
you always seem to lag back
as if the streets were the alleyways
and the alley's always full of bats

where the shadows pass on rumours
and all the cunning streetlights wink
calling all the shots
and informing us of what they think

but you don't notice
and darling I can't see
if the two of us are bait
for some temporary conspiracy
but it's almost two a.m and I'm ready
to let it go
let it go

I'll confess i didn't hear
you'll protest
but never fear
we'll be toast by the time it's morning
awaking in seperate beds

well we always leave together
and maybe that has given rise
and the increase in accusations
should really come as no surprise

but you don't notice
and darling I can't see
if the two of us are bait
for some conspiracy
but it's almost two am and I might just
let it go
let it go

let it go
let it go

I'll confess i didn't hear
you'll protest
but never fear
we'll be toast by the time it's morning
awaking in seperate beds
I'll confess i didn't hear
you'll protest
but never fear
we'll be toast by the time it's morning
holding our hands to our heads

Although the story element in this piece was short, The way it was written was quite engaging and there was a little bit of sadness in it. Writing wise it was sweet and thought provoking but as a song I don't see this working until it's in some weird signature and progression.

By the way It's nice to see that you're still posting
