I am so indecisive none of my other threads have helped me. Here's the story:

I'm going to japan in November with my jazz band and I need a guitar good enough to pull off jazz in japan and rock/metal once I get back. The thing is I need it to be cheap enough that I don't care about damage during flight.
Please help.

What range is "cheap enough"?

I would recommend getting a Japanese Les Paul in Japan such as Agile, Navigator, Edwards (especially), or Tokai. It's possible to pull off jazz with Pauls and rock too.

I searched edwards guitars online and theyre all around 1000. Are they cheap in japan? Also, my band instructor probably won't let me do that because it's cutting it close. cheap is around 250 or less.

I'd say a less known brand les paul. But it all depends on your budget. I'd say a strat but those can't do metal on factory settings.

I was looking at that. It honestly just seems to good to be true. I watched video clips and it sounds great but I've played Epi LPs that sound worse and people are saying the're as good.
Idk.

Anyone know how much in USD edwards guitars are roughly in Japan ?

Eh? I could really use some info about japanese guitars. From what I've seen they're all super expensive. At least not in japan.

use one of your guitars you already have. use the G&L for japan. that's what i'd do instead of waste money.

Japanese people have really simple taste in Rock music, you could play power chords on a Ukulele in Drop D and they'd suck your nipples.

For US$250.00, take a look at the Laguna LE200:

http://guitars.musiciansfriend.com/product/Laguna-LE200-Electric-Guitar?sku=502390

Or the Schecter 006 Deluxe:

http://guitars.musiciansfriend.com/product/Schecter-Guitar-Research-006-Deluxe-Electric-Guitar?sku=518183

They both play well and you won't shed any tears if anything happens to one of them.

What's to good to be true? There good guitars and they aren't a very popular brand so you're not paying for the name like other big name guitar brands. Trust me, there not to good to be true.

Edwards are roughly more or less $1000 dollars in Japan. I live here. Y100,000 more or less. You could get some at around 500-800 but thats used.

Edwards not a popular brand? They're under ESP. Go figure.

HURRAY FOR RACISM!

I'd go with the Agile TS, I've heard way way way more good things than bad about them. (In fact in all my time on UG I've never heard anything really bad about them aside from their pickups lacking a bit.)

And all the Edwards line guitars are out of your price range. Let alone the real MIJ LP copies.

I think I'm going with the agile AL-2000. I was considering the explorer shaped model but that will be a pain in the ass to travel with. Edwards are way out of my range but I was looking at them. they are SUPER sexy.

They're not popular at all here in the US.

And $500 for an Edwards?

I need to go to Japan. NAO!
