I want to buy a new guitar. I play metal most of the time, like miss may i, the devil wears prada, that kind of stuff. But i DO NOT want EMGs. i would much much much prefer to have passive pickups. i have a bugera 6262 for an amp. My budget is about 700 dollars with some wiggle room.

Please dont suggest schecter, esp, ibanez, or any of those major brands unless the guitar is something thats pretty different. i want my guitar to be something other than the standard black/red/white guitar. Im open to just about all shapes.

thanks in advance

EDIT: No floating trems please

It's honestly nice that you don't want EMG's, you won't have the standard, sterile (In my personal opinion) tone that most do.

Since you're not interested in the major brands, I can't really suggest anything

Look up some agiles, for the price you pay your getting a guitar that is up there with nice guitars costing almost double the price

For the unusual-looking' Metal guitar? Get an Agile or an Aria.

Or even better. Build you own guitar! Buy a body and neck from Warmoth, and paint it however you please, wire it according to your personal preference with some good pickups. And Enjoy?
How many guitar players does it take to change a light bulb?

Twelve. One to change the bulb and eleven to say they could do it better.

id get a tele with a humbucker but thats just me.. i find tele's so comfortable to play

That might just be your best bet, buying and building a guitar yourself. Then it could be EXACTLY what you want, since it'd be built under your preferances!

I should have thought of Agile, since they're from NH

also its not that i dont want the major brands, its that i just dont want the same black schecter hellraiser or white esp eclipse that everyone else seems to want ya know?

washburn has some nice guitars as well .. not to common to see nice onces

id also like to purchase from a smaller company where you truly get what you pay for rather than a big name company just because there are so many small companies around that no one knows about, including me. so any lesser known brands would be nice to check out. cause i dont need it to be a "metal guitar", i just want a nice guitar.

I have a feeling you'd be against BC Rich too.

How about a doublecut LP?

or a PRS copy?

Or save some more money for a cool Edwards. (If you're willing to block the trem on most models)

EDIT: Honestly if you do manage to find a small guitar company with a crazy shape that you like, kudos. If not, we don't really know exactly what you're looking for so it would be really hard for us to find something perfect for you.
