Hey everyone,
I'm kind of in the market for an overdrive or maybe a vintage-style fuzz, or both. Looking for overdrive of course, but I'd also like to be able to get a nice smooth Trey Anastacio-esque tone (yes, I know he uses two tubescreamers). I was thinking about just going for a used TS808 or TS9, but I figured I should ask UG their opinion. It should be pretty versatile, somewhat bluesy (think Allman Bros), and around $100.

You might like the Way Huge Red Llama circuit if you want an overdrive with some fuzzyness to it.

[quote="'[BurnTheDusk"]']Boss pedals may be built like tanks but I would rather buy a cardboard box that is on my side than pay for a tank that is working against me.

give it a listen. It's a bit out of your price range but it's fantastic.

It's not at all out of my range, I'd go up to like $150 if it was for a pedal that was worth it. Sounds great, but it's too heavy-sounding for what I'm looking for.

Doesn't quite sound like what I'm looking for. I should've been more specific in my OP. I'm looking for an OD that can get a classic sound, but I also might need a fuzz for versatility and for smoothness.

This may be a weird suggestion, but check out the the Big Muff Germanium 4. Overdrive on one side, fuzz on the other, and you can cascade the two. Pretty cheap too.
I've watched a demo of that, I'll look at it again.
