Hello Everyone. About A month ago I bought a Danelectric EQ from best buy, and a few days ago it started making weird squeaking noises when I move the sliders. I know that I prolly should've got the boss eq, but I dont exactly have the money right now. I wont be able to get to best buy for a while, (to get a refund or something) so I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions. Thanks in advance

Which is why you eat funions. All the deliciousness of fried onions without disgusting lukewarm onion snake.

No I have it in the middle. It also makes noises when I move the level slider

Sounds like you've got scratchy sliders. Get a bottle of contact cleaner, such as Deoxit, and spray it into them.

If you don't they may become permanently like that.

Well I guess I'll get some of that stuff then. It's is also prolly worth noting that it was acting this way b4 but I changed the battery and it was fine for a few days

I think that with the Dano EQ Fish and Chips if you start to hear weird noises that you need a battery change, or try and find transformer that will work with the EQ. I think that 9V and anything above 300mA would work

If the battery change solved the problem before, it will again. Look into getting a power supply. They pay for themselves after a few months (vs using batteries anyway).

Well I'll try a new battery and if it works I'll get a power supply once I have the money

I've got that EQ and have had no problems. I wouldn't dare run it on battery alone. I use a 1Spot adapter for all my pedals including that one. It is worth the $30 investment. If it still makes noise after that then return it because something is wrong.

I was having a similar problem with mine and thought it was just the pedal crapping out. I guess I should try changing the battery out.

Well I Changed the battery and it seemed to work. But last time I put a fresh battery in and it stated making the noises after like 3 days. Since I'm kind of new to pedals. About how long will the average battery last ?
