I'm really not sure what that +W at the top is supposed to be. I guess it might be a whammy bar used to raise the pitch by a step?

it`s a simple legato lick in Em played in triplets, there`s no tapping involved, if it`s too much for you to get your fingers round instead of pulling off to the open e, you could tap the 12th, it would change to tonality slightly

Oh, if you want to ignore the W's, then it's really pretty simple. Use your pinky on the 8th fret, ring finger on the 7th fret and index on the 5th fret. It could be the triplet rhythm that's throwing you off. Triplets took me a while to get into the groove of playing because they can sound odd.

how about the picking? all down or all up? or alternate.. I mean since i'll be picking first one of the three notes

In this case I'd say whatever is most comfortable. I would probably do it either all down or alternate, depending on speed. Because Aces High is fairly fast, I'd go ahead and alternate, but if you can nail it with all down- or up-picking, go for it!

Use the downstroke, unless you play the passage fast enough to warrant alternating. But lean towards using the downstroke, as that's the most powerful and tends to work better with these kind of pull off's.

Hope this helps,

I do this my downpicking the first of the triplets. This is actually not too bad of a legato lick, but but pulling off to an open string can be a little bit tough until you get it down. Lots of Metallica uses this as well if you're looking for some practice. I know some of the solo's in One use this, there's a fast lick in the solo to All nightmare Long that does, and I think also Fade To Black but those are the only ones I can recall at this moment.
