Hi
I have a Boss GT-10
I've been using it for about a month now
I got some cool sounds but still not exactly what I'm looking for
I'm looking for a Petrucci kindda distortion sound or Micheal Romeo's
what i mean is a heavy sound but not too dirty

And i also can't find a good acoustic sound like Petrucci's

Any tips ?

I am also having hard time getting good distortion using this unit. Its a great unit but very complex to work with.
My Guitar Rig:

> '09 Ibanez RG1570 Mirage Blue w/ DiMarzio John Petrucci Set
> ESP LTD V-50 Black
> Line 6 POD X3 Live
> Dunlop DB-01 Crybaby From Hell

milky way is one of the better presets. idk about petrucci-esque tone, but i can get some decent sludgey tones with great bass feedback from it.

The distortion on the GT-10 kinda sucks (it does on multiFX in general). Best thing is to get a decent distortion stompbox.

Same goes for the POD in my opinion. Got a separate pedal and all is good now.

you mean to attach a separate distortion pedal on GT-10's loop?

No, just run it in line somewhere between your guitar and amp.

the Gt-10 requires so much more setup then a stand alone stompbox, which is why a lot of people says its not very good.

have you ever read GT-8 Brilliance guide? google Boss_GT-8_Brilliance.pdf, should be able to find it. the concepts on that carry into GT-10.

you should be able to model the tones you want.

yes, a product shouldn't need a document the size of the GT8 brilliance to get working, but things pay off if you put the effort.

also check out the bossgtforum, great guys there.
