So I'm kind of getting into the graphic novel medium, I loved Watchmen and V For Vendetta, and I'm currently reading Scott Pilgrim.

I really want to find more stories that are unique and suck you in the way these did for me.

So Pit, what are your favorite graphic novels?

I loved Neil Gaiman's Preludes and Nocturnes. If you're a batman fan, then I'd recommend Arkham Asylum, too

Graphic novel = comics, right?

'Graphic novels' is a term people use because they're ashamed to admit they read comics.

Transmetropolitan and The Boys are my current favourites, I absolutely love Darick Robertson's artwork.

I thought a graphic novel was a book which had a load of violence, drug references and sex in it.

Kick-Ass is the only one I've read that hasn't been mentioned yet. I'm still pretty new to the medium myself and love it... I just wish they weren't so damn expensive though.

the main difference is graphic novels tend to be more dark, gritty, and deep, whereas comics are more light and childish.
#13
I always thought the difference was that a graphic novel is more like a movie where as a comic is like a TV show. They're both the same "medium", just presented in a different way. In this case, a graphic novel tends to have a shorter but more in depth story, where as a comic will be drawn out over many many issues.

It's that, or I've just been over thinking the whole thing.

Old Man Logan was by far the best I've read, and that includes Testament, a bunch of Deadpool ones, Venom vs Carnage, The End series (GREAT too), Watchmen, and probably a bunch more I forgot.

Is Scott Pilgrim good TS? I've been thinking about buying a couple of em cause they look cool. I should probably watch the film first though...:/

Anyway, Yeah I love Watchmen, Killing Joke, Kick-Ass and Wanted. Love em all. Thank god for Graphic Novels.

No, a comic is usualy a serial, a graphic novel is usualy a complete story collected in one book.

Personal favourites are Neil Gaiman's 'Marvel 1602', Kurt Busiek's 'Marvels' and Frank Miller's 'Batman: The Dark Knight Returns'.
#24
I absolutely love The Long Halloween. Although Dark Victory was a worthy sequel, it just didn't quite match up to the first one. I consider them to be one story, though.

Watchmen was very good as well, if slightly overrated.
#25
What, no John Constantine: Hellblazer?

I am disappoint.

Leonardo Manco's art really makes that series kick ass.

It's like 'animation' or 'anime' instead of cartoons.

If mangas are included...
. Fullmetal Alchemist.
. Boys Over Flowers.
. Detective Conan.
. Naruto.
. Gakuen Alice.

Let the top 5 suffice.

If Manga is included, then you need to read the Battle Royale series.
