hi guys, i have a problem
dunno wich of these 3 pedals should i buy
i own a epi sg special and a laney lx12 amp, i play mostly hard rock, lookin' for a warm, crunchy dist with rich harmonics
choices are:
1. mxr distortion +
2. mxr distortion III
3. seymour duncan lava box distortion

Depends on what sound you're looking for. I had a MXR but I found out that it works better as a sort of tubescreamer than a real distortion. What sound are you hoping to achieve?

As an owner of a MXR Distortion+ I can tell you to stop looking in that direction. It's a pretty shrill sounding pedal, especially if it's behind another buffered pedal.

I'm talking about the current production version. Apparently there are good sounding vintage models.
