Need more info than that dude.

Where do you live?
What type of music do you play?
Tube or SS?
Willing to go used?

Without anymore info... a used Classic 30 or a new Peavey Bandit fits your budget and volume needs. Both amps sound good and the Peavey can be found used as low as $100.

Not to be whingy, but it always strikes me as a bit arrogant when people don't say what currency.... as if others aren't valid.
The above suggestions are good. Also, an older Crate Vintage club series amp would be great.

That's a lot of booze. Frankly, I'm impressed. You're of a stronger timber than the average man, jimbob! Hail you.

nearest major city?

also, no that crate from the other thread isn't good for $250.
the vintage club jimbob mentioned is a very good amp, but not really for metal imo.

so nearest major city? we can find stuff, we have mad skillz.

I second the Peavey Bandit

It's nice and loud and can be a bit quieter for practicing

It gets nice cleans and has good distortion

Peavey Vypyr 30W.
It's pretty loud, and can beat a drummer any day.
