I play bass in a cover band, and at one point in our show the guitarist and i have a little "guitar battle," and im trying to figure out some more ideas for stuff to play. Mindless shred gets boring, so i want to find some things that the crowd will find impressive but at the same time sort of know. so far i do eruption, part of cliffs of dover, and the overhand technique thing at the beginning of thru fire and flames. What other things do you think would be good?

Watch the part with the solos, you'll get some ideas.

The grandmother is having a baby with her grandson, so the grandson will be his own fathers father, the baby will be his own grandfather, and grandson, and the grandmother will be the mother, and great grandmother?

I think G3 will give you some excellent ideas. I quite liked this one by Adrian Smith and Dave Murray
