Rumors of a possible remake of Back to the Future, starring none other than Justin Bieber, are spreading around the Interwebz like wildfire, and while they are probably false, the possibility exists that my childhood is about to be raped by yet another Disney abomination.

Thoughts? Comments? Concerns? Would you watch "Back to the Future" with Bieber taking the lead role?

(I know Perez Hilton isn't exactly a trustworthy journalist, but even the faintest possibility of this happening was enough to make me weep tears of unfathomable sorrow )

I don't care who stars in it; they just don't need to remake that movie.

Seriously. That's like remaking Star Wars or Indiana Jones. You just can't do it.

Because the Hollywood Ideas Bucket has run dry.

It seems like a lot of recent movies are sequels, remakes, or adaptations of books and comics.

If this kid dare ruins one of my favourite movies of all time, I will not be very happy.

why remake it?
why do they want to ruin the good name of the Back to the Future trilogy?
And why does every singer think he can act?
#12
So what, are they just gonna remake movies starring people we won't give a shit about in 4 years?

God damnit america.

WHAT.

I do hope it's a remake and not a sequel. I mean...the end of Titanic was fairly...final.

That's made by a group that does Hollywood ripoff movies, like Snakes on a Train and Transmorphers.

That's just ridiculous.

Also I've heard that they are either remaking or continuing the Indiana Jones franchise with Shia LeBeef as the main character.

That's not entirely true. There's lot's of ideas out there, but Hollywood either doesn't want to take risks or can't afford the risk. I do understand that it is a business, and that they want make movies that will sell tickets. But at the same time movies haven't been making money lately and it is there fault. The budgets are far too big, so when a movie fails it's a bigger deal. If they were smarter with their money they could not only make more movies, but they would make more off the successful ones. And they could afford to gamble every now and then.

I agree, but look at all the big releases this year:

The A Team, Toy Story 3, Iron Man 2, Harry Potter sequels, Twilight sequels, Shrek 4, Prince of Persia, Robin Hood, The Lightning Theif, Kickass, Scott Pilgrim, Alice in Wonderland, The Last Airbender, Clash of the Titans.

While my first post was an exaggeration, I think there is some truth in it. There were some good original films, like Inception. It just seems to me that there's an unusually high number of remakes this year. I've never seen it happen to such an extent before.

Movies like Inception show that Hollywood can afford to be adventurous some times, however not every adventurous movie is going to be that good.

Lies. I've heard the interview with the people who're remaking it. It's not a remake as such, they're just improving the quality of the picture and sound and re-releasing it in cinemas.

Yeah I agree. But that's because sequels are usually big money makers. So you can't really fault them for making sequels.

But with the exception of Toy Story, Alice in Wonderland, Iron Man 2, and Harry Potter all of those movies wayyyy underperformed (Harry Potter hasn't come out yet, but I assume it will make a lot of money), so there's still hope.

Quality need not be improved. Simply releasing it in theaters now would be enough for me to see it.

Even if it is remade, a film about incest, rape, terrorists and survivor fetishes isn't going to get through lightly.

EDIT: And Bieber's got the jacket for it anyway.
