So, lately I have only been listening to the same music/bands/whatever. I came here to see what bands The Pit thinks I should listen to. I listen to classic rock mainly from the 70's and some from the 80's, but am open to other genres/decades of music.

Thanks guys.

Music isn't the Olympics. It's not about showing other people what you can do with a piece of wood in your hands that has strings on, it's about making sounds that are good.

Do yourself a favor and go buy The Black Crowes' second album, titled The Southern Harmony and Musical Companion. Buy it right now. You'll thank me later.
How to achieve Frank Zappa's guitar tone:

Step 1: Buy a Gibson SG
Step 2: Insert Green Ringer, EQ, 3 dead squirrels and a microwave into said SG
Step 3: Plug in and freak the **** out.

...

I guess I'll be contracticting myself a bit.
The Gaslight Anthem for "rock". Song- "Great Expectations"
Interpol for "alternative". Song- "Obstacle 1"
Shad for "hip hop". Song- "Out of Love"
The Living End for "rock/punk/rockabilly". Song- "Monday"
Rural Alberta Advantage for "alternative". Song- "Don't Haunt this Place"
Porcupine Tree for "experimental (I guess...)". Song- "Sentimental"

Also, everyone needs to check out "Fuck You" by Cee Lo. Good vibes.
