Dude, this is so ****ing stupid...

I was just on facebook to check e-mail/messages (I dont play the games). Anyway, my friends status was her whining about how she has two kids and the fathers not in the picture. One of my other friends (who also has two kids), said 'yeah I'll have more kids but next time I'll wait til I'm married'. I thought, 'well no duh, dip-shit'. It seems where I live, (south Texas), the common trend of late-highschool/early-college is to get knocked up, or get married while not being financially stable and have bills and eviction notices coming in weekly on a steady basis. Sure, by all means get your own damn place. But dont get your place and blow all your money on buying a damn 72' plasma flat screen in every other room. Spend it on a little furniture and maybe a nice dining set. Then, stash all the rest for living expenses, i.e. utilities, power, water, etc. rent, or house payments, car payments, insurance premiums, etc.

Another thing that makes me pissed is all the people you knew in highschool, a few really stood out and you knew that they were gonna make it, and now you see them on facebook and under interests it says thigns like 'doing stuff around the house'. My, how far the mighty have fallen.

I admit noone is perfect. And neither am I, I'm on UG for ****'s sake!
But it just seems like some people **** themselves over, and then wonder why life sucks. Isnt that weird?

I hate that also, some people just have to learn to keep it in their pants. The best way not to get pregnant is to not do it! Jeez, people these days just don't think of the consequences. My neighbor is going through the same thing, 2 kids from one guy and she is now pregnant with some other guys kid. Yet she has the nerve to judge me cause I wear make-up and jewelry, "the bible said..." yet she has kids without being married.

I tried but I guess she didn't want them cause the bible said it's not natural. I believe in God, don't hate me, but I just don't believe in going to church or trying to preach to people.

I only use it to talk to friends. Alot of my friends when out of state for uni. I call their cell, send them e-mail, text, but they never return any messages so for some of my frineds, this is the only way to keep in touch. I personally only have about 25 or so friends. Other friends on their have unrealistic numbers. For example...It's like, "really? You ACTUALLY have 782 friends that you converse with on an average basis? I cant even make a list of that many people that I know. I'd probably max out around 65 0r 70."

^
This is the honest to God truth. I'm a Catholic, so by swearing to God, I've got a lot riding on this. But its the truth.

In my opinion, the adage is true: "The more friends you have online, the less you have in real-life"

That woman has her mindset way off. It is her fault that she got involved these guys, and why she has these kids. It takes two to get married and have kids. She needs think about her own mistakes here.

I agree with you actually, people need to learn to be self effective in their own lives.

There is no point to get work up over things like this. This is very judgmental. Also, can you see the irony of your post after what you just said? Why worry about these people? Do something about you own life? Also, there is nothing wrong with doing things around the house. Maybe they have the life they want, maybe they are content. Who are you to judge?

I know the feeling. at that point I just ask myself "what will I gain from spending time thinking about this?" and then I'm able to ignore it for a while again.

yet she has kids without being married.
As a Messianic Jew, I can say that my Bible certainly says something about not judging other people when you have your own stumbling blocks. (In fact, I'm sure it just plain advocates NOT judging anyone, ever.) Not to mention that it clearly advocates not having kids out of wedlock. Sorry, I don't wanna judge this lady. I just find it ironic.

OT: TS, here's the thing. How does your judging them do anything? All you're doing is causing yourself to get wound up. You're spreading around to everyone else your clear dislike. But the fact of the matter is you can't change or fix people's behavior. People are gonna do stupid things, same as you will. The key is to not do the same stupid things, to see other's mistakes and learn from them. But judging them for it and telling us all about it don't do a thing.
