I'm probably purchasing a new amp a little after New Years I'm guessing.
But I want to select one, and stick with it, and save up enough for it.

I currently own (Read my signature).

I play mainly Instrumental rock.
I'm influenced by Neil Zaza, Joe Satriani, and A LITTLE bit by Malmsteem.
I don't play metal.

Budget > $1000 USD

Not gigging, a bedroom player (Basement)
Probably do some recording with it as well..

I've thought about 6505+ 112 Combo
or a JSX 212 combo

But I haven't look at any of..
Crate
Black Heart
Jet City
Line 6
Marshall
VOX
Bugera
Mesa

If anyone can recommend me to some of these, or Peavey, that'd be great! THANKS

THIS ^

Since your not into metal I really wouldn't recommend the 6505. The JSX would be a lot better option if you like Peavy, but I agree with the guy above.

Vintage Modern is a good amp but for that budget you can't really go past a Mesa Mark IV

I agree. However, they're a bit more than that. I like the JSX idea, that was a great amp.

Also, I'd go out and try to find a band! Not only is it fun it's musically rewarding.

You CAN play anything with anything....but some guitars sound right for some things, and not for others. Single coils sound retarded for metal, though those who are apeshit about harpsichord probably beg to differ.

get a 6000 watt Marshall Zakk Wylde halfstack

^spam much?

whoahesgood - first of all, nice OP

I wish more people would structure their 'What Amp' threads this way.

JSX would work well obviously.

Crate, Blackheart, Line 6 (outside of Vetta) are probably not going to work.

Are you willing to look at used amps and open up your options? What is your closest major city? I'd look at an Eganter Renegade too and maybe a Tweaker.

Also +1 for focusing one what you really want and saving up for it

I love Joe Satriani
and his gear.

I wouldn't mind used.
Toronto.
I've done some searches on craigslist, and some are..sort of overpriced :S
I love the gain on the JSX, nothing can beat it for that price.

ehh his budget is >$1000 and he's willing to save up

I like the JSX idea though it really is a go to amp for versatility and great tone at a (relatively) budget price. That being said, the Mark IV is close to grail tone for many, and certainly has the versatility boxes ticked

Check out these:

Maybe see if you can work something out with the person in Akron, OH or Minneapolis.

I searched within Canada and didn't see anything, but something will pop up. Also maybe look at Peavey XXX/Ultra and put EL34 tubes in her.
