so im 17 and dont have a learners permit and im asking if you can get your licence without waiting a year if you take private lessons or is there another way?

In NH, there isn't such a thing as a Permit. You just take Drivers Ed (Unless you're 18+), take your written & driving test, and you get your liscence.

In my province (Newfoundland), you get your permit after a short written test. Then you do your road test a year after you get your permit, or 8 months if you did the provincial drivers ed course. I do my road test in ten days.
