I really like the deep rumbling guitars like in some of the Black Keys' and Jimi Hendrix's stuff.

The bolded selections have some beefy and nasty guitar tones and/or a heavy Jimi Hendrix influence. Happy hunting.

The Black Keys. There are more than blues classic rock, but they still have a great sound of rock with heavy blues influences.

In addition, widespread panic has some songs (some in the album "Is not Life Grand") that have a good sense of sadness.

You can never go wrong with The Jimi Hendrix Experience or (his solo work too.) Electric Ladyland is one of my favorite albums.
