Partially inspired by Son of Dave

But really I've always wanted to be able to play proper bluesy harmonica, y'know, just in case I end up in a jail cell over night.

A bit like Robert Plant on Led Zeppelin's Bring it on home

So basically, any recommendations on what harmonica to get?
I have one in E, but it sounds all tinny and fanfarey, and is way too high.

Also, any tips on technique? I've read some stuff about "bending" notes, but it never really made much sense to me.

Does anyone play it with their band? or just for shiggles?

Cheers in advance

Do a search, plenty of people have made threads on this subject.

Hohner Special 20 Marine Band is a decent and cheap harp, and C major is the best key to start out with. Most beginner books/videos will use that.

Ah okay, I thought they might have. I did search, but I didn't find anything.

Yep, I just got myself a Special 20 a few weeks ago, and C major is the best to go for for learning as all the books and stuff use C major, then you can just get whatever other key you want once you've got good enough.

I plan on getting a Blues Bender in G once I get good enough

I made a thread on this two months ago and everyone suggested I get a Hohner Special 20.
