i have a MIM Fender standard P-bass and an ashton pa150 bass amp w/7 band eq and an onboard compressor.

I'm looking for a victor wooten esque tone; clear and bright but with a thud.

What kind of eq setting should i go for?

EQ wont get you a Victor Tone... being Victor will get you a Victor tone. But I would probably boost the low mids for the thud and the high mids/treble for the Clarity.

Experiment. There's no clear-cut black or white when it comes to achieving tones. Different basses require different EQ to get different sounds. A P-bass probably isn't your best bet for a Victor Wooten tone.

You can bet that almost all of his sound comes from his technique anyway. You could walk up to his amp when he's playing and go crazy with the controls, but no matter what settings he has, he's still going to sound like Victor Wooten.
