Survey: What is your favourite/least-hated song in your countries top 10?

Hey all, I know most of you, me included, dislike the music in the top 40. But I was curious, what is your favourite song in the current top 10 in your country. I think this would be really interesting to see, because not only would it give a flavour of what types of music are popular in various countries, but also could demonstrate what a group of musicians can agree on as being "good" or at least "not-as-bad" traits in popular music.

Also please no anwsers like "I hate all pop music", that may well be the case but at least name a song you find the lesser evil, and some acts which aren't cheesy pop make it into the charts anyway. This thread may well fail, but I think from a musical and sociological standpoint it'd be great if we can get some results out of it.

anywho, my favourite song in the UK top 10 at the moment is "Katy on a mission" by Katy B, the current number 8, which I think is actually great, due to the dubstep influence. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qNhPYj-5rIY

EDIT: UK charts: http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio1/chart/singles
USA: http://www.billboard.com/charts/hot-100#/charts/hot-100
Australia: http://www.ariacharts.com.au/pages/charts_display_singles.asp?chart=1U50
Germany: http://www.mtv.de/charts/germany

EDIT2: And the song you name doesn't have to be pop music, just in the top 10 singles, that way you to see if say rock is more popular in one country or dance in another.

If you included a site in the OP where people can look at their respective countries' top 10/40 lists that would help your survey alot.

I'll get back to you when I find my own country's list.

edit:

Sweden's list:

http://www.hitlistan.se/

I've only heard one song in the top 10 and 2 songs in the top 40 and it's Robyn's "Dancing on my own". It's not bad. The other one is a lady gaga song.

We No Speak Americano of course.

This is just going by the itunes top 10 though.

EDIT: Actually theres quite a few songs in the top 40 that I like/don't mind.

Billionaire, Airplanes, All Time Low, I Need Air, Dynamite, Stereo Love, Bang Bang Bang and God & Satan.
The plan was to drink until the pain over.
But what's worse, the pain or the hangover?

Top 40 pop? Well, looking at the Billboard website, it's all junk to me. I know that's what this thread is trying to stay away from, but as far as it goes, I find it to be mindless dribble.

However, moving to the Rock charts, there's some songs/artists that I can stand. Avenged Sevenfold gets a lot of hate from some folk, but i'm sort of indifferent about them. For a "radio rock/metal" (even though, no, I realize they're not 'metal' by most standards), I can stand them. In my younger days I was a bigger fan than I am now, but they are OK in my book. After that in the Rock top 25, I can stand somewhere maybe a third of the bands or a little more. Rise Against, Shinedown, Five Finger Death Punch, and Soundgarden are a few that I see at a glance. Not my faves by any means, but I don't dispise them either.

Paramore/30stm is bearable.
No ego-inflating quotes nor stupidly long signatures to be found here.

Move along.

Bands/Artists of the month; Marco Sfogli, Marco Sfogli and Marco Sfogli .

Only looking at the top 10 I'd say Eminem's one or We No Speak Americano.

I'm not a fan of any I've heard, and I tried this Katy B lass and I didn't think much of it, though I'd actually describe it as pleasant. Quite interesting really, as I probably wouldn't have heard it if it weren't for this thread.

Still hate modern chart music, though.

Pop songs, some ain't so bad, some are very irritating.

Generally, In all music: I do not like artists who do not write their own songs
I do not like songs that are Gay, I would define gay in this context as overly femenine lyrics/sound to appeal to vaginas in order to expand their fanbase unless they are backed up with good musicians or a real singer then there may be a possible exception.
I prefer lyrics to have some meaning, instead of yo yo ho, what up bro and a bottle of rum, or whatever they say in modern music.

Also to be included:
Boybands, EG: Westlife, McFly, All that music industry generated crap that goes with it.
Of course, my opinion is subjective, My trash is your treasure.
On playing the Paul Gilbert signature at the guitar store extensively, my missus sighed:
"Put it down now, It's like you love that guitar more than me!"
In Which I replied.
"Well it has got two F-Holes!"

I actually quite liked that, as well.

Best thing Ronson's ever done. Which isn't exactly a glowing review.

Am I the only one who thinks most songs today are about being famous/wanting to get famous?
#22
edit: ^^ you're not the only one.

I dislike all of them

Also, most of the artists can put shit singles out, and people will still buy them, because they are by that artist.

I literally hate every song in my country's top 10.

edit: Hell yeah 'Bang bang bang' is an awesome song.

Ke$ha has a song called Take It Off? Thank the Lord I haven't heard it (and I'd like to keep it that way).

And with pride I declare that the last track to enter the top 10 that I truly liked was Rude Boy by Rihanna.

I really like both the Eminem ones, Not Afraid and Love the Way you Lie.

Also We No Speak Americano, but it's just been bumped off the top 10 in our country.

Katy Perry's offerings and Flo Rida's Club Can't Handle Me are catchy too... Feels wrong but I do like them.

You got something against piratecore hip-hop?

On topic, I don't know any of these songs. I do listen to the radio, but it almost never leaves the classic rock station...
