Hey guys I have now decided in my quest for a new amp and guitar to put all the money I had towards a guitar into a new amp fund.

Budget is £800 I play mainly Metal like Maiden, Saxon, Priest type stuff but I also venture into heavier stuff such as In Flames, Machine Head, Trivium and Killswitch engage.

Any suggestions new or used appricated! So hit me with what you think.

Actually I was in the market for a 6260 (but wanted to look at other options first).

It's not there anymore. Are they discontinued?

WORLD music supply, im sure they do. if not ive seen other places selling them for the same price, just get googlin'

EDIT: from what ive read(link below) yes they do, but theres no shipping insurance on anything over $450 so you might want to buy from somewhere else

Right in other options I've been looking at

Blackstar HT-60
Engl Screamer 50
Engl Thunder
Bugera 333xl
Peavey 6505

What would be best?

Out of those I own the last 2 in head form, both are absolutely fantastic
For what you're looking for, I'd go for the 6505/6505+ combo, they sound great and they're damn near invincible
ohai little sig.

do you play more nwobhm or brootz?

I'd maybe consider a laney- gh50/100L? Haven't tried that exact model, but it's meant to be good for 80s metal. TT would be worth a look, too. Engl blackmore, maybe.

depends on how much brootz you play, too.

I'll have to put the Classic T models on my to-try list. Shame the finish options there are Anachronism Gold, Nuclear Waste and Aged Clown, because in principle the plaintop is right up my alley.

Presumably because the CCF (Combined Corksniffing Forces) of MLP and Gibson forums would rise up against them, plunging the land into war.

I play like half and half on br00tz. But I was looking for an amp mainly for br00tz but it could also do NWOBHM stuff too.

Problem is I can't try various options because they're hard to come buy over here and the Internet is the only way of getting them.

It's just not really a metal amp compared to the rest of them. I don't know, just not a fan of blackstar.

The clips on my profile are a (dodgily recorded) Screamer. Plenty of gain for metal, especially if you boost it. I doubt you could manage the really brutal deathcore stuff, but for everything else it is awesome. Far better cleans than the 6505 etc.

Edit: Wow, I really need a decent mic.

I assume we're talking about the thunder.

I think if you put a boost in front it would but the Lead channel should be good enough.

Ah I like my amps to be turned up with the gain on two and being able to play like stuff like Nile and Meshuggah. It's a nice sounding amp though.

I think the clips in my profile (trying to remember as I was messing with settings) was with the gain on about 10 o'clock with a TS-7 boosting it. It gets heavy enough for most stuff that I play, but I'd tend to think the Meshuggah would be out of the range a little. You could always look for a second hand Fireball.
