well i guess for Soloing ive just played in a certain key (ex a minor) and i just just jam around in A minor scale. and its been on my mind. is there anything else i can do other then just that? edit: and sound like your matching the scale?

You could play around the chord progression instead of the scale. That is, try to play chord tones on strong beats, etc.



HK, I've been curious about trying this soon. But I'm not exactly sure what it's all about. Might you post a youtube link that shows someone doing this?

You could learn keys, chords in every key, scales and their relationships to chords. You could learn triad theory and target notes. You can add knowledge of intervals to create harmonized passages.
