Been waiting years to actually do one of these that people may even be slightly interested in and now finally can

I present to you my Orange Rocker 30

right the pictures are out of the way now for the review

have not had too long to spend with it as am still awaiting my cab but from the few hours i spent with it i've been very impressed.

the natural channel is a plain simple clean channel no knobs or EQ just a volume,
responds really well depending on what pickups you use with it with my guitar it sounds really warm and chimey which is perfect for me

The dirty channel is where this amp gets fun. It has a standard 3 band EQ and a gain knob. Unboosted and with low gain this amp does great bluesy licks and turn the gain up some more and can do the classic rock british stuff and if you turn it up some more and you get into some high gain territory.
With a boost this amp CAN do metal/metalcore etc it may not be that standard american sound a lot of people want but i really like the ballsy british sound it gives

Overall a pretty simple and easy to operate amp no nonsense fiddling with switches simple turn it on and play but with a little tweaking can get great sounds

sorry for the lack of clips but as i have no cab or decent mic(all which should be coming in the next week) i can't record anything

Congrats! The bassist in my former band had one that I got to use at a gig once, it was amazing, like Led Zeppelin in a box pretty much. Really fun to play with when you've got a loud drummer and you've gotta crank it, the tone pretty much gives you an orgasm. HNAD!

Aren't these based on JCM800s? If so, they can definitely do metulz.

I keep hearing that, but whatever similarity is supposedly there, I don't see it. The thing sounds more like a Super Lead than an 800.

it might be that the rockerverb 50/100 are based on the jcm 800 and hte rocker 30 is based on a superlead? there supposed to have slightly different voicings one more modern than the other

I played with a band for a couple of summers with that amplifier! the Rocker30 is sick. The one I used LOVED my Strat, and my Strat loved that Orange. That was definitely the best overdriven tone I have ever had.

Make sure you check out the sheer size of the output transformer in that thing. I'm sure that's a significant part of its thick tone, the transformer itself must weigh ten pounds. That's a lot of iron for a lot of tone.

Happy NAD! It's a great one.
