So I'm buying one on Monday....I just can't really tell the difference between the two... http://guitars.musiciansfriend.com/product/B.C.-Rich-WMD-Warbeast-Electric-Guitar?sku=512689

and this

http://guitars.musiciansfriend.com/product/B.C.-Rich-NJ-Deluxe-Warbeast-Electric-Guitar?sku=516094#used

The only real difference I see besides cosmetics is that the NJ has EMGs but every review on youtube has the WMD owning in tone. Why is the NJ $100 more?

I'd say the extra $100 is for the pearl binding, which doesnt look that good on a BC rich.

IMO, BC rich are constructed poorly and arent very reliable or that nice to play.
I would reconsider if I were you.

What would you suggest? Anything but Schecter or Ibanez

well both ibanez and schecter are lightyears ahead of bc rich unless you have alot of money. look into the fender jim root tele. great guitar

I agree, I have an EC_1000 and they are great guitars, they're great for metal, rock, even mellow stuff like blues, check them out. (btw they dropped in price)

Definitely agreeing with these guys. Ibanez and Schecter are good but if you dont want them there are tons of other brands in general that are better than BC Rich.
Especially ESP.
But you seem to be judging by aesthetics so maybe even look at a dean, although they have weird shaped necks and take time to get used to.
Go to your local guitar store, play the BC rich, then play a different guitar of the same price range, most of them will play better.

dont get the BC Rich. U can do much better for the money.

check out esp ltds.

All the guitars i suggested are with no floyd rose. If u change tunings a lot, dont get a guitar with a floyd rose. It's a pain in the arse.

Also i know u said no Ibanez but i'll suggest it anyway. U might like the unique look of it. Also sounds awesome.

Also whats ur amp? Most of the tone comes from an amp so even if u have a good guitar but a shit cheap beginner amp like a line 6 spider, it's going to sound shit. I suggest u split the money so u can buy a good guitar and an amp.

ltds are incredible for value in my opinion, but try them out for yourself, higher end bc rich guitars are not as bad as people say they are. Many people just look at the bronze series and instantly give bc rich a terrible reputation, as far as i know the higher end such as the nj series are actually not too bad. I've only tried out one or two though so to be honest I'm not the best reference, I'm mostly going by word of mouth.
