I was actually enjoying that song until 0:40...then not so much.

And to answer your question its a pretty balanced tone, no heavy eq work. A nice distortion pedal/amp distortion is needed though.

Trying to get studio sound in a home environment - it can be hard, if not totally impossible. Remember, these guys frequently use multiple amps and guitars to achieve these sounds. Quite frequently, they're using expensive gear which may've been modified to change its tone. This is something you'll never be able to repeat at home. You may be able to come close, though.
