I am loving some fuzz right now, and I know quite a few UG'ers do to. So I am looking at picking up a Muff style to go along with my Monsterpiece Classic(Fuzz Face)/NPN(Hybrid mix of fuzz if I understood Richard right) I am looking and picking up a used Rams Head clone by Stress FX or used Big Muff Pi w/TW.

Thanks, I have checked them out. The Stress FX Rams Head Clone seems to be in the same ballpark as the SUF, based off of what I have read, and for the price right now the Stress FX wins.

^I don't think it can ever be /thread with something as subjective as this.
I like the Tone Wicker but I don't know how it compares to boutique muffs

SUF is an option, I just found some really good deals on the two listed, and of the two the Stress FX and some very good reviews. But on the same note so does the BMP w/TW and the SUF VRH. The better question I guess, would be what can get me a Wolfmother type sound.

well, you could get some of his tonal qualities from a muff, but if you want the real deal you need the red machine

(i've been able to play joker & the thief with just an OD pedal)

maybe look into the musket fuzz.

This, I get a pretty convincing Wolfmother tone with the Musket. It's also an amazing muff varient.

I wonder how the Clone vs the re-released FTM compare

made by the same people, should be pretty close... a possible variant could be some of the parts they used back then aren't around anymore (unless they use NOS parts)
