Hey guys! Any Engl Powerball owners got any cab preferences?
Im currently using a line 6 flextone III cab which sounds nice, but i want to buy a new one as i know it can sound better!

Ive heard good things about the ENGL cabs and Orange cabs! I want to avoid mesa because they cost billions and sound too dark for me!

Not fussed if its 4x12 or a 2x12

Thanks!

Go for an orange. They're the best sounding cabs apart from the Mills acoustics. I had Mesa, Bogner, Marshall, Framus and Orange, and i still have my 2 orange cabs.

I can't speak for the Engl. I played one a few years ago, and it sounded ok. Not a bad cab at all. But its not like i tested it very thoroughly

Thanks man What one would you reccomend? I can travel out to my nearest ENGL/Orange stockist and give them a whirl!

from what little i tried them, i always thought the engl cabs had a really tight, modern tone. Great if you're after a brootal high gain djenty tone (no i don't know what that means either), but a bit sterile if you need a range of tones, including more classic ones.
I'm an idiot and I accidentally clicked the "Remove all subscriptions" button. If it seems like I'm ignoring you, I'm not, I'm just no longer subscribed to the thread. If you quote me or do the @user thing at me, hopefully it'll notify me through my notifications and I'll get back to you.

I'll have to put the Classic T models on my to-try list. Shame the finish options there are Anachronism Gold, Nuclear Waste and Aged Clown, because in principle the plaintop is right up my alley.

Presumably because the CCF (Combined Corksniffing Forces) of MLP and Gibson forums would rise up against them, plunging the land into war.

Cool! I'm aiming for a looser, bigger sound so ill probably sway to orange anyway! More like an iron maiden mixed with gus G tone! different styles but I've sort of got a good mix already!

In my experience, and from what I've tested, my ENGL Fireball (I know, not a Powerball) goes best with Marshall cabs. However, you should always test for yourself.
I do not want to have a signature anymore.

Seems to me like you bought the wrong amp... but Orange is always a pretty safe bet.

I've had tube amps for a while now, but never actually had any go down on me

maybe you're not saying the right things? an amp likes to know you care.
