Today I was watching the 2010 Pokemon World Championship finals (yeah, they were awesome so STFU) and noticed the winning dude's PKMN had Rush songs as nicknames and thought it made it TWICE as awesome.

So have you ever found some fans of bands you also like in places you didn't even expect to find them?

Vids of the Final here BTW:

Kinda freaky since I recently completed Pokemon Gold in 3 sittings listening only to Rush's discography.
The UG Awards exist only to instill me with existential doubt.

For me, the 60's ended that day in 1978...

Willies. Fuck the lick and fuck you too.

Pokemon warrior, mean mean stride, today's Pokemon champion, mean mean pride.

Though his pokemon are not for rent. Dont put him down as arrogant. He reserves his Lugia for defense. Riding out Kanto's events.

Everytime I go into the guitar shop and ask for a G-String the shopkeeper always makes that TERRIBLE joke about it not being an underwear shop

So next time I go in I'm gonna ask for a thong

OMG that's awesome. I had no idea there were pokemon championships.

Tell me, since I can't be bothered watching the video, do the pros use attacks like growl and leer? I always just went for the biggest damage in the shortest time.

LOL The Pit never disappoints.

If you're interested though, tomorrow the 5th generation of pokemon games comes out in Japan, so don't expect it to die anytime soon.

Well kinda, competitive players use attacks like Swords Dance, Agility or Nasty Plot to heighten their own PKMN's stats. If they use a move to lower the opponent's stats it's to cause a PKMN switch most of the time (cause the stat's go back to normal when switched out).

I still play it. I've been playing Heart Gold recently, it's a great way to pass the time when there's nothing else to do. What's the problem with that? I mean it's not like I go around introducing myself as a huge Pokemon fan to everyone or anything.

Not to mention the majority of the Pit seems to be obsessed with Pokemon...
