hey yall,, just a question on soloing,
for juicy long held notes what's good to use?
as in 3rds, 5ths, 6ths of the root note i mean,

Definitely 5ths are the fattest notes besides the root. The 4th might give u a nice happy sound sometimes mostly if the chord is major and is a transition chord. The 3rd kind of gives ur like a vocal melody type of sound, like but not good to hold them long. It mostly depends on the chord progression. I think the best way to get fat juicy sounds, is to learn the blues scale. The most important thing for a bass player is phrasing and groove.
Dont worry much about the 7ths and 6ths, they are usually for jazz and fusion music.
