For you more experienced guitarists, I have a question.

I'm confused as to the best way to finger the below melody. What I find myself doing automatically is rolling my index finger from string to string. I want to know if this is a good technique or if I should be doing something else. I ask because it involves me rolling across 3 strings such as a barre chord. Or is it all a matter of preferance? I hope you can all see what I mean.

All notes are 8th notes in the 7/8 time signature.

useless comment: anyone else laugh childishly at that title or is it just me?
I'm like a black Dr. Who, Except I'm white

I only watch porn with names that are puns or have alliteration in the title...

Playing in position would be a lot easier. 7th position means every note on the 7th fret you get with your 1st finger, every note on the 8th fret you get with your 2nd finer, every note on the 9th fret you get with your third finger and every note on the 10th fret you get with your pinky. good luck!

I'm not pro, but I would do like Soverange said, and I would roll my index finger on the 7th frets. That seems like the best way to do it in my opinion.

WHERE IS MY PICK?

Yes, your index finger should roll the notes, however, you mentioned a barre across 3 strings and I wouldn't, personally, do that; I would roll the index finger across, first, the E and B strings and then, later on, adjust the position of my index finger to roll across the B and G strings before moving back to the original position and rolling across the E and B strings.
Speed is a by-product of shut the fuck up.
