So a bit ago I was buying some old PS1 games on ebay.. just to play with my cousins and stuff. A few dollars each. I noticed one of these:
http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-USB-DUAL-PSX-PS2-to-PC-CONTROLLER-ADAPTER-CONVERTER_W0QQitemZ320461982828QQcategoryZ0QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp4340.m506QQ_trkparmsZalgo%3DNGRI%26its%3DI%252BC%26itu%3DUA%26otn%3D10%26pmod%3D220656157785%26ps%3D63%26clkid%3D5615924237932285849
(not the seller I bought it from, just the same item)

It was only about 4 dollars with shipping so I figured I'd see if it worked. If it doesn't, big deal. Only a few dollars.. so yeah. I got it and it came with a little CD. I connected the adapter and put the CD in and there were like 4 .exe files named random stuff. I opened one or two and a virus scan said a trojan was trying to attack my computer, blahblah. Virus scans mess up sometimes and think safe programs and files aren't so safe. It then made me re-boot my computer to like recover from it or something.. which has never happened.

I can't google the item since it seriously like does not have an official name and all that.
Anyone ever used one of these? (They're all over ebay) Is it safe and my virus scan is going nuts or is it just a trojan-infecting piece of crap?

I dunno man, the seller has 99.2% satisfaction and you're protected by the Ebay cover thing.

Probably was just a mess-up.

when bought from an ebay power seller. i doubt it

I suppose so. I just checked and the seller is named DazzleGames and has over 54,000 feedback.....

The one I linked isn't who I bought it from. It's just the same item.

who am I kidding. I just looked at the seller's ebay. So much positive feedback and plenty of other people who bought adapters saying they worked. It must be my stupid virus scan. I guess I'll give it a go. Thanks for posting. (:

I know that some emulators show up as trojans because they record keystrokes, you might be having the same problem. Most likely it's safe. If it comes up as a generic trojan, then it's probably fine.

Yeaahh. I wasn't sure since it made me re-boot my computer and stuff.. but I've seen a lot of safe.. erm.. keygens come up as infected when they didn't do any harm so hopefully it's the same situation.

Edit: Tried it out. It worked fine. I'm dumb. xD
Thanks.
