I'm looking for a pedal that will boost my tone when my amp is already in distortion mode. I am not looking for more crunch, I own an ocd, and from what I've experienced it is pretty much only to increase drive. But I have heard that you can set it to be more of a boost.

What Im looking for is to boost my tone with a more bassy sound.

Should I go for (obviously) a boost pedal? or something like a tube screamer?

Try something like the MXR Micro boost?

It wouldn't add bass, it would just boost it to a higher volume.

right Metallica is a given. Personally I like to pretend the bus exploded and killed them all in '86.

Im thinking I could probably pull something like that off with the volume knob on my ocd.

Although more gain might be the way to go

Its a jcm 900 dual reverb, with a lead 1960 4x12.

I was also going to ask if anyone knows of any other good eq's besides the GE-7? Are they really that different/worth buying?

It's worth buying something that's not a GE-7 because they're noisy.

A tubescreamer might work, an EHX mole is a bass booster which might work as well. An EQ's probably best, the MXR's are generally regarded as the best.
