I play stuff like Radiohead, Queens of the Stone Age, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Beatles.

So mainly rock and alt rock.

p.s. Also, could you say why you chose your choice please.

Have you considered an HSS Strat? I think that might fit you a little better.

But out of those I'd say the Tele Custom...

tele custom is agathis. A lot of people say it sounds kinda dead (I haven't tried enough agathis guitars to know if that's true or not). But it's worth bearing in mind.

I haven't tried the other two.

I'll have to put the Classic T models on my to-try list. Shame the finish options there are Anachronism Gold, Nuclear Waste and Aged Clown, because in principle the plaintop is right up my alley.

Presumably because the CCF (Combined Corksniffing Forces) of MLP and Gibson forums would rise up against them, plunging the land into war.

The Tele Custom is one of the top guitars in its price range. Yeah, it's agathis, but if you're not paying a lot, you can't expect everything to be great. Even agathis can sound alright. The hardware is pretty nice, though I'd change out the tuners, and the pickups actually sound pretty decent.

why not a vintage modified strat or tele?
they have better body woods (on average) and imo sound better.

this ones my favorite.

I have a classic vibe tele and I think it's great, didn't even need to swap the pickups.

yeah i mean i tried the one with p90s and i thought it sounded alright. I was only trying it through a microcube, though.

But i mean plenty of manufacturers offer the "correct" woods at that kind of price... obviously what quality of wood that is, of course, is a different matter entirely...

I actually haven't enjoyed the P90 ones as much. They sound good, but they've all had fret problems. I've only played 3 of them, but still. :\

As for woods, when you're not spending much, you can't afford to put a lot of weight on it. Yeah, something like an Epi Les Paul Studio uses "mahogany," but it's not a great cut of wood and really won't sound much better than a "crap" wood guitar in the same price range. I don't see why people buying budget guitars care so much about the wood; it's going to last long enough for you to save up and get a much more decent guitar, and if you're not planning to upgrade later on why shop budget?

yeah i wasn't too fussed on how it played, but i liked how it sounded

but yeah, i agree about the wood. I mean, it's supposedly "mahogany", but considering how many barely-related species the guitar companies call mahogany...
