switch might be broken, might have to install a new one, it's fairly easy to do.
You can always find a place to go if you can keep your sanity

would it be easy enough for someone as myself to install it because i really wouldnt want to pay someone for something if its simple enough i can do myself

wait i had this problem with my guitar too is the switch in right i mean like centered in the slot cause it could just be on like to the side and not go all the way to the end where it clicks

if thats not it then you would have to replace it
and its not too difficult to do as long as you can solder

i thought mine was broke so i went to a repair shop and they gave me one. Just keep track of what is soldered where. take picture or draw a diagram for yourself, seems lame but if you don't you may kick yourself down the road.
