Add the price of all the equipment you use for music.

For me, with my classical guitar, electric guitar, keyboards, software, recording, etc. it totals up to ~$4,600 (over half of which is my classical guitar. Normally I don't feel the need to buy such high priced guitars, but it helps tremendously with school and shit).

I find $4,600 to be kind of high, yet I wouldn't be surprised if some people here totally wipe mine out.
#2
meh...Mine is like $1000 at the most
That's for an electric and an acoustic and various accessories. I don't have an amp.

I bought most of my stuff used, so I've spent considerable less than sticker price. However, I think my grand total still comes to somewhere around $1500, or maybe a touch over.
Gear
Highway One Tele (w/Custom Shop 51 Nocaster pickups)
Standard Tele (modded to Nashville specs)
Reverend Roundhouse

Orange Rockerverb 50 MKI

several thousand..

I'll add it up in a bit (read: when I'm not too drunk to forget elementary math skills)

edit: to put a little bit of it together.. my pedalboards worth ~1100, guitars are probably around 3000, amps are 1000ish, my drums are worth 1300ish, then just random extras and stuff..
so my guess is that in total, I've got about 7000 worth

..ish

God damn. Is that the average price violinist's instruments cost in college? I guess that's not too bad. I know of classical guitar students with $6,000-8,000 guitars (which aren't that great).
#13
Let's see. I unfortunately don't have any one piece that's too epic and great, though I'm working on it. What I currently have with me is

(these are all UPON PURCHASE prices)

a. One casio keyboard worth at least 300$
b. one spanish classical guitar worth 300$
c. one ibanez classical guitar worth 250$
d. one bass guitar worth 200$
e. one epi les paul worth 600$
f. one very old banjo worth unknown est. $250
g. one seagull acoustic guitar $400
h. one fender square $100

$2400 if my math is right. I'm grateful, but it could be more! Hehehe =)

Also have a Fender Telecaster coming soon hopefully..so it will increase a tad! Heheheh

Lots of the people in my high school and the uni connected to it have violins worth well over $5000. One of my friends has a violin worth over $30k and he says he needs a new one

In total, I probably have about... $2000 worth of guitars. But I have a bunch of cheap ones. $500 for amps/effects, $250 for recording equipment. And, a $500 fretless bass.
Q: Favourite Pink Floyd song?
A: The one where they get wicked high and play Emin and A for an hour.

Well I got it long before college and I'm not a violin principle, but yea I'm guessing college level violins are around $10-30k.

Lets see. Randall cab w/V30s 800 bucks. Randall G3150 400 bucks. Marshall TSL 100 was 900 bucks. Pedals add up to about 600 bucks. All my guitars, abut 3500 dollars and my Guitar Rig 4 which was about 300 dollars

Jesus Christ! Thats about 6 and a half k! It's kind of depressing to know that only about half of the stuff makes me happy
#19
Let's see, my KV-2 (blue ghost flames) costed about $2000, My 7 String was 1300, my DK2-M was 600. I also have a taylor acoustic that was 1000. I have $500 worth of pedals (I don't use my tube screamer anymore though, but I still have it). My amp costed 1200, and my 412 speakerboxes with G12H30s costed about $400, my 212 with Vintage 30s costed about the same. So I have about $7600 worth of gear.
#21
In Australian dollars.
PC: Built by me: $1500ish Inc. Monitors.

Guitar amp: Laney GH100L+matching cab: no idea I picked it up for $760 second hand in full working order recently retubed.

Bass amp: Hartke HA 3500+Ashdown mag 410+Hartke vx115: $2000ish

Guitars/basses:
Ibanez S320: $800
Casino POS: $250
LTD B155:$750
Washburn XB155: $250 second hand
POS 3/4 classical: NFI at all

And I have a Boss TU3: $200

So leik 6 grand Australian were I to get it all in America probably only about half that tbh
I am me. Live with it.
#22
All told, prolly like $1500. I prefer to buy cheap guitars and mod them. Besides, I don't have tons of cash to throw around. I'm in college here. Like I can afford a Mesa Boogie Tube amp (which I'd buy in a heartbeat if I had the cash) or some shit.

About 800 euros..

Hrmm.. In order of expensiveness, I've spent roughly:
Sax: $5000
Drums: $2500
Guitars: $2000
Amps: $1600
Misc (tuners, leads, print music, software etc. Not including disposable items such as strings, reeds): $750
Pedals: $500

That adds up to $AUD12 350. Converted to US dollars, that's $11 566.

EDIT: I forgot saxophone mouthpieces. That would easily be another $500. So the grand total is a little over $12 000 US dollars.

DON'T MAKE ME DESTROY YOU!

I'm gonna be counting in euros (cuz im from europe)

My best e-guitar is worth around 800
Other one is like 400
Shitty one is like 200
and for my first one i got a shitty one with an amp and some practice dvd for like 300
Cheapass acoustic guitar about 80
My cheap but awesome amp 150
My guitar case specially designed for airplanes 100

So about 2030 euros, wow thats a shitload
#27
Absolutely everything including all my pedals and fx things cost me about 2200-2300.
They aren't collectors items or anything so they probably went down in price from when i bought them. if i tried to sell everything i might get away with 1500.
Gear:
Jackson Dinky DK2L
Epiphone LP Standard
Yamaha Acoustic
Bugera 1990 w/ Peavey 2x12 cab
#28
Maybe £5 at most ... Joking aside, it will only be £400ish I think, my guitars are all cheap, my amp also.
Call me Matthew.

about a grand.
drums, harmonica, guitar. we lost the upright and keyboard.

edit: eh, more like $1500

Truth be told i don't know the value of some of my stuff.

My RG570 is in great condition and i bought it used for $380 without tax.
Peavey Wolfgang Special was used and $650 without tax
Les Paul Studio Faded was $850 new without tax, but it's signed by Les Paul now.
My Vypyr was $100
JSX was $675 without tax but they're $1550 new

So that's about $1800 of stuff that doesn't include the wah or distortion pedals i have but never use, or my cheap guitar from Costco.

As for how much it's all actually worth, i'd say double that and you'd be about right.
#31

I just gave away a lot of it, but my total spending music-related gear probably got to about 18,000 USD.
#33
A little over $7000 NZD so maybe $3500 USD?

EDIT: Guess I should write up what I have spent that money on.

Drum Kit: $3500 ($1000 of that on cymbals)
Epi SG Gothic: $1000
Ibanez Acoustic: $1000
Ibanez acoustic amp: $500
Electric amp: $500
Bass: $450
Straps, tuners, picks, leads etc: $245

So yea, just over $7000 NZD

£20,000.

I'm winning so far.

I've sold most of it though. I could have bought enough cocaine and guns to recreate the final scene from Scarface for that. I probably should have done that instead.
#35
Oh god let's see.
Spector Euro 5 - $2100 (paid $1650 because I traded in my old Epi T-bird.)
Epiphone Dot - $440 (got it shipped over from the US)
Squier Affinity Strat - $280 + $170 on pickup upgrades.
Squier Jagmaster - $450 (currently in the process of getting a refinish.) +$120 for new pickups.
Yamaha RBX270 - $370
Greg Bennett Fairlane 5 string -$350ish (currently in pieces got some upgrades planned)
Ministar Basstar - $350
Mesa/Boogie Big Block and Ampeg 610HLF I bought together used for $3000
Vox Cambridge 15 - $325
Behringer BX300 - $170

$8125 AUD all up from what I paid for it all, my bass rig's probably worth a bit more than what I paid for it. If I went new on everything I'd probably be looking at around the 15 grand mark.
Basses:
Fender Precision Bass
Fender Jazz Bass
1967 Fender Coronado Bass II
Warwick Star Bass
Squier Precision Bass TB
#36
Squier Strat - $200
Schecter C-1 - $1200
Fender G-DEC - $500
Leads/Misc - $100
Cases - $200

Around $2200 or so in Aussie dollars, plus an extra $150 for a new pickup in the strat. Adding a mandolin to the list soon though, bringing it up to $2650.

I just re-read it and saw it wasn't the total you'd spent on equipment. What I'm currently using is about £2,000.

The funny thing is I hardly have enough money to eat! And my apartment is worth much less than yours. Priorities, I have them.

I sold a head, mixer, pedal, and pickup that cost me a little over 500 for 150.

I needed the money, but used guitar gear is pretty worthless, and I'd say 150 was fair for what the dude was selling used gear for, I kinda wish I'd bought my stuff used to begin with:/
I'd say I have about 400 bucks worth of gear.
