I want to get into recording my music. The problem is that I do not have interfaces. So when I was surfing around on Thomann.de I saw the Line 6 pod 3x pro, and noticed that it has the interfaces I needed to record everything I want.

With that in my mind I was thinking of a rig overhaul. It would make me go from everything in my sig to:
Guitar>Line 6 pod 3x pro>headphones/computer.
I got a few questions about it though:

1. Would it be an upgrade from what I use now?
2. Is it possible to use headphones on this device?
3. How is the quality of the effects for guitar and vocals?
4. Can you run it right into a power amp? (for band situations)

Thanks in advance!

First of all, i own the X3 Live. it's almost the same thing, just mine is in a pedal format. all the sounds are the same.

1. Would it be an upgrade from what I use now?
i would say so
2. Is it possible to use headphones on this device?
Yes! very much so!
3. How is the quality of the effects for guitar and vocals?
i think it's great. and since the pod acts like your soundcard, you can play guitar/use your mic with people you're doing video chat with! my sm58 sure does beat my xbox live mic!
4. Can you run it right into a power amp? (for band situations)
You bet you can! except i would probably do it like this

Pod----> small mixer ----> power amp ----> speakers

if you want some really short demos of what it can sound like, go to my sound clips on my profile.

if you have any questions, don't hesitate to PM if you have no luck here.

Though you may wan't to wait before purchasing a line 6 pod as the new line of POD's are being released sometime in the not too distant future and im pretty sure the amp modelling will be a lot better.

I was just playing with the idea of it.
Do you know a date when the new stuff comes or do you have a site with information about them? Couldn't find it myself.

Does anyone know if the Pod x3 has a Mesa boogie rectifier pre-amp on it?
