product: http://www.ikmultimedia.com/stealthplug/features/

Can I use this for the following:

Playing with effects in real time?
Recording wet tracks?

Do I need to plug the guitar straight to the StealthPlug and then USB to the computer or do I need my amp?

Will it work with this setup:
Motherboard: Asus P5N-E SLI
CPU: Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 @ 2.4GHz Native
RAM: 4GB @ 800MHz
GFX: nVidia GeForce 8600GT 1GB
Sound: Gstar USB 5.1
HDD: 500GB Maxtor 7200rpm
Optical Drive: Asus multiformat with LightScribe
Cooling: Triple Copper pipe CPU HSF, 2x120mm 1x80mm chassis fans
OS: Windows 7 Enterprise 32

- Yes, can play with amp models, effects etc in realtime

- Can record 'wet' or be used on any prerecorded guitar track to 're-amp'

- Stealthplug goes straight between the guitar and the computer

- Er, yes. I've had Amplitube III running realtime on a 1.8Ghz Athlon system with 256MB of ram. Your system could easily support five or six instances running at once in realtime (all the guitar and bass tones on a 16-track recording, for example).

Thanks for the reply, have you had any experiences with delay between when you hit the note and when it comes through the speaker?
Should I spend £60 on the stealthplug or £60 on a stompbox or spend a little extra and go for a low end (probably Zoom brand) multi effect pedal?
