Simple question, can't find it on the web. I'm working on my third partscaster project and I'm not sure if I need a neck gasket (between the plate and the body). Will not having one negatively affect the guitar? I'd rather buy cigs than an overpriced piece of plastic that I don't need.

Actually, you don't; you (and your body) just think you do.
If you stopped smoking, you wouldn't die.
I know this because I quit smoking cold turkey.

K, this threads going in a weird direction.

Besides being unnecessary, neck gaskets are fugly behind the neck plate. Dunno who'd idea it was to start using those.
